Well. The year 2020 is drawing to a close. And some will say not a moment too soon! It hasn’t been the best of times. We’ve all been challenged in one way or another and many of our “normal” lifestyle routines have been forgotten or pushed aside for more pressing concerns. Or, we have just not been able to shake off the 2020-ness of what our lives have become.
One of the routines that we may set aside is our annual eye health exam. While it may not seem significant in the grand scheme of things, making sure that your eyes – and the rest of you! – are coming through this year healthy and happy is pretty important!
Remember. A thorough comprehensive exam can show Dr Kay and Dr Deweese what’s going on with your general health, as well. A good exam can reveal not only a multitude of eye-related health issues but also a plethora of systemic conditions! Gazing deeply into your eyes can let us know how your blood vessels are doing. Whether you might have high blood pressure or diabetes. And, if you already know that you have those diseases, they can make sure that your eyes are not affected by diabetic retinopathy or some other sight-robbing problem.
And, of course, a full comprehensive exam will determine whether your eyes are healthy or if you are suffering from conditions like glaucoma or macular degeneration.
Besides checking your health, the doctors will also perform a refraction to determine whether or not you need glasses or contact lenses as well as what the best kind of lenses will be for you.
And let’s not forget your eyeglass selection! While 2020 may have been a bust in most cases, Hollywood Eyes has brought in some amazing new eyewear lines that are guaranteed to elicit a “Wow!” – or, maybe, a “WOOW!” (which is one of the new lines and is filled with light, color and cosmic rays!).
Remember. You have been paying into your vision plan all year. And, though it may not technically “expire”, you will lose 2020’s benefits if you don’t use them by the end of the year! That’s like throwing money away!
Plus, don’t forget your HAS/FSA money! Many of the plans in use today basically delete whatever money you have put into them for the year. It just goes away if you don’t use it by 11:59 pm, December 31.
We understand that it is easy to forget stuff when your mind is occupied with a million things that are new and frightening. But don’t just let your money disappear at the stroke of twelve on New Year’s Day!
We at Hollywood Eyes are available for all of your eye care needs until end of business New Year’s Eve. We will be closed on Christmas Day. Otherwise, we’re here for you!
Please give us a call since we are still requiring appointments for any visit. Let us know what you need and we will do everything that we can to accommodate you!
Our number is 954-923-5367.
And remember. All of us at Hollywood Eyes wish you and yours a safe, healthy and happy Holiday Season!
Sincerely, Dr Barry Kay, Dr Mark Deweese, Daniella, Diana, Sandra, Maggie and Sharpon
